Who has changed their pre MY99 steering wheel for a MY99+ Momo one?

Need some advice on this changeover, I'm pretty sure it's been done by quite a few people but just want to be sure it's a straight swap (except maybe the airbag connectors are different).
Are the splines the same on all classic shape Imprezas? Have a look at this thread and scroll to the bottom, you'll see the issue of the splines which I think is wrong

Mine was done before I bought it, but asked bloke about all mods including wheel and he said it was an easy straight swap - though the turning off of indicators after turning (can't remember technical term for bit!) is a bit tricky to place...
