Need some ideas guys...

I have just fit a mom hub and Millenium steering wheel to the MY93 WRX and it certainly looks the doggies danglies. However, having fit the wheel and hub I notice that the wheel is slightly off centre - in other words the wheel needs to be turned slightly to the left when driving in a straight line So got back to remove wheel and then hub to recentre but the hub seems very reluctant to come off. I have tried the wiggling it from side to side and have exerted a fair amount of force to try and pull the hub off - but to no avail. Any ideas as to how I can free the hub from the steering spindle ?

Yours hopefully.

We used to hit it double handed from underneath with the heels of our hands to release 'em in the '70s when we had this prob. You do need someone else with their hand on TOP of the wheel boss so that when it suddenly frees, it doesn't break your nose!!

just leave the last turn of the lock nut on, so that it stops the wheel when you break shamfer.

Cool

Thanks for the replies and tips guys - steering wheel is now fitted and looking very nice indeed

I actually used a Mallet - which was perfect for getting the hub off without damaging it. Anyway thanks again for yer tips.
