The in dash cupholder makes a half hearted attempt to emerge and gets about 1cm. You then have to tug and wiggle to get it into a cupholding position.

Are they all like this, or does mine need attention?

PS Why couldn't they fit 2?

Same problem on my MY01,

I think if they'd fitted two then the one on the right would get in the way of the indicator stalk when open.

Dunno if it's the same on an MY01/02 but my MY99 has an additional cup holder hidden in the armrest between the front seats. A kind of foldup butterfly jobby

Whatever you do don't leave a Mcdonalds or like drink in the armrest.

1 week later = Armrest full to the brim!

Remedy = Very absorbant sponge(Sp?)!!

Same prob here.... just yank it out.....

Coke Cans -> Rattle a little but considered safe after a few sips
Fast Food Cups -> Depends on size Large X-Large don`t feel safe specially on Nova overtaking.
Bottled Water -> Forget it too unstable

Yet to try other beverage holders...

Got MY02 WRX and it works perfect???????????

Got MY02...bit stiff to fully open..get's most of the way out, then needs a little tug to extend the underneath properly. (Talking about the cupholder, before anyone else says anything !!)
