Question

We have managed to scratch the inside of the drivers door glass, and wonder if there are any products out there to polish out such things, or is it a case of a new window ?

There is an abrasive polish available (though haven't seen it for ages) Not sure whether it would do a good enough job though.

Try talking to a glasier or a car valeter

You want stuff called "jewellers rouge". It looks a little like plaster (because it is a little like plaster). You mix it with a little water, then gently work it on the scratch.

It may take it out, or you could be completely buggered.

Good luck!

Question

Be a bit careful here, My mate works for a w/s replacement co., and reckons that it,s not poss to polish out scratches, or the companies would offer the service.

Question

Or would they?

Surely it takes as long to polish out a scratch as it does to replace a window and there's much more profit in a new window!

I had my side window scratches polished out (not entirely, though) and the company managed to get the OK from my insurance company as a repair...... so at no cost to me
