Is it possible CAT D Impreza WRX STI PPP
Friend of my Dad's has offered him a nice WRX STI PPP on an 02 previous cat d stolen recovered i believe, the car is in great condition and being given at a good price.
Was wondering would it be possible for my dad to get insured with me as a named driver. Details are he is a 63 year old Teacher with 7 years NCB and I am 21 working as a Photo Technician and a student. I live in WV4 and looking at 4k p.a miles with will not include commuting as i am getting an FR and my dad has c220. Can can be garaged or on the drive and wouldn't mind tpft but prefer fully comp. Dad is likely to be the main driver has he has more free time.
Is it possible, what do you guys think?

That this question would be better put to an insurance company? But yes, there will be someone out there who will insure you. Remember though, your dads NCB can only be used on one car at a time.

hi there, yeah he has two sets of no claims with proof so no issues there and admiral won't touch me with a barge pole for some reason, friend of mine had his license a year and is 3rd driver on his parents e46 m3 for around 1700 for the whole policy but they won't even give me anything close really don't understand why, if it was possible for under 1800. This sit would really be an option but the comparison sites won't give me anything which is viable. Is my age a major issue when looking a specialists?

You are young and you are trying to put your Dad as the main driver when he probably won't be. Insurance companies are not stupid!
My first STI cost me £2.5k to insure with Tesco at 21 and I had to have a tracker fitted. (which I later found our that Tesco owned!) So best part of £3k. But the next year, it dropped to £1500, then £1200 and now at 31, I pay £240 for my 05 WRX.
Bite the bullet and do it properly. If you can't afford it, wait until you can.
