Default Sky insurance admin fees

Right gents, I've just remembered something I meant to ask when I was on the phone too sky earlier.

Do they charge an admin fee for adding additional mods in the middle of a policy?

Cheers.

Hi,

yes, mid term adjustments are £25. If you have a list of mods you are looking to do mid-policy, if you let us know about them all together we will not charge the mta fee when you add them. If this is still at quotation stage, let us know about the modifications now and we can note them for future fitment.

Thanks

So if you note them down as possible future mods on the quote, then I ring up at a later date to say there actually fitted. Would that incur the mta fee?

No, if we are aware of the mods to be fitted at a future date (from quotation/renewal stage) then no fee will be charged.

what is the admin fee for exactly?

your changing a modified car to policy to a modified car policy

hardly worth £25 is it really

changing address/vehicle/drivers is an mta the above is not

all imho

Receiving the phone call/notification, adding the modification to the system, transmitting this to the insurer, issuing of paperwork, sending of paperwork, processing of paperwork when confirmation received and chasing of if applicable

I'll use this thread again seeing it's near the top still.

Whats your (Sky insurance) policy with regards to non performance mods, i.e. suspension/brakes/bodywork etc?

The reason I ask is when I spoke to Greenlight they said non-performance mods won't add to the premium and there's no fee for adding them during the policy. That and the two quotes I've had were fairly close (within £100) so stuff like admin fees could swing it either way.

Cheers.

No different here, We do not charge an additional premium or admin fee (via our car club scheme) for cosmetic mods.

If you let us know the planned mods, we note them and you just let us know before they are fitted.

Thanks

When you say cosmetic, does that include stuff like brakes/coil overs/anti rolls bars/drop links etc?

Cosmetic means things like body kits, decals etc

Again though, if a customer is planning modification mid-policy, let us know what these are at quotation or renewal stage and we can note them on the policy for fitment at a later date with no fees being charged.

Thanks

Just to wrap this one up, thanks to Sam @skyinsurance. Came in cheapest of the usual suspects and was helpful/knowledgeable too. By all accounts made the process of changing car insurance far less painful than it could have been.

Also worth saying thanks to Gary @keith michaels, purely for being straight up about the fact they most likely couldn't beat sky's price. Gotta respect that in today's economy.
