Default Help

In 2010 my car was dropped off at a garage never to be seen again ..

It was taken for a test drive and a white van wrote it off ..

The garages insurance sorted it, called the Vans insurance and they sent me a hire car and paid me the money to replace mine. I filled in no forms and made no claims.

I called Aplan, (my insurance company) and they agreed it was nothing to do with them and no one had contacted them.

Today I tried to get insurance with another company and they are kicking off about me having an accident .. WTF ..

Their manager is calling me tomorrow as they have the option to ignore the "flag" but I'm just wondering if an accident involving my car whilst being driven under the insurance of a garage and claiming against another company will affect me ??

If so .. WHY THE **** ?

You received the payout, so there will be a non-fault claim against you on the CUE database.

What can I do about it ? and why is it putting my yearly up by £400 ?

I assume the insurance company can explain the situation to the underwriter ? and get it ignored ?

Technically it can't be removed, as you did receive a payout.

A £400 additional premium seems very excessive, hopefully the underwriters will use common sense and remove/reduce the extra

I'd happily give it a go

Make sure your current insurers won't sting you if you cancel first though

Shame you couldn't help mate .. but give Aplan their due, they kept going back till they got the price down to match my best quote .. and they know about the "claim" ..

If you're reading this A plan .. I love you and I'm sorry I looked at another insurance company ..
