Over insured on a car?

Over insured on a car?
Ok sounds wierd. But for example:
If i was insured to have say a fmic, but it still had a tmic. Or i was insured for a bigger turbo but it still had the oem fitted? Is that still valid?
Reason i ask is my insurance renewel is coming up and i want to add these things before actually fitting them to avoid admin charges etc in the future.
