Default Rough idea? 25, 6NCB, Classic Type R

Hi all,

Sold my car today, and am now looking to get an Impreza.

I've got my eye on a few classic shape type R's, and was wondering if anyone could give a ball park figure for insurance (i.e is it going to be £500, or £1500).

I'm 25
Clean licence
6years NCB
One non fault claim 2 years ago
Nice enough area.

None of the online sites will quote, and A-Plan etc are closed now. Just wanted a rough idea, before I get my hopes up

Thanks

Getting a decent quote will depend on your previous driving experience with the specialist insurers

I'm paying £685 with Moley (above). That's a UK Wagon and I'm 27 with 4 years NCB and 3 points, 2 non fault accidents. But had 3 other Scoobs in the past. Really depends on so many factors but best of luck.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have never been insured with a specialist (currently with Aviva, via A-Plan), and have never owned an Impreza before - its not looking too great

Will have to ring round a few places next week.

Aviva should still offer to insure the Type R, but i wouldn't like to suggest what the cost would be.

There's only 2 months left on the policy, so hopefully switching for the remainder of the term won't be horrendous.

I know it's very difficult to say Moley, but would you suggest that you would struggle to get me a competitive quote, given my lack of previous experience with an Impreza?

Just don't want to waste people's time if there's no hope!
