2 Blokes, One Car, opposite sides of the country!

I'm already with KM. Have been for 4 years or so. Same car.
Thinking of sharing an Impreza project with a mate. What is a sensible way to go insurance wise?
We both have other daily drivers. The idea for this is take turns with the car. Visit each other, drop it off... just use at when we want. etc etc...
One lives in London and the other out West.
How best to do it and whos no claims takes a hit if one of us needs to claim?
