Hiya Mate - best of luck on finding something. Have a look at http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm for the FAQs.

Well I'm 20 and best I've had so far is £1,900 from Zenith...
and that's on my dad's insurance!!!
On my own it would be more like double that! Hoping I find something better soon. Got a month to find something!

Hello,
My insurance is £835 Fully comp with direct line and i was 23 when i took the policy out. That is with a drink driving charge on my license oops!!!
So they seem quite resonable.

23 - 2 years NCB, tracker = £1500 Tescos too...well worth checking out, I did lots of ringing around, and there's was the cheapest even including the cost of a tracker. Oh, I do have a few mods declared including some 17" Radius R3's - and a 24year bloke on the policy!!
It's worth every penny anyway
check out the "for sale" bored here for scoobs...IWOC is also a great source of info: www.IWOC.co.uk and of course the SIDC pages and the FAQ.
Oh - and welcome to Scoobynet!

Your only hope is to ring around to find the best deal for yourself.
We got ours through Chris Knott Insurance Services - recommended on Scoobynet.
Your circumstances are quite different to ours (being a mere youngster an all!!) but must be worth a try.
Good luck - Just bear in mind that you may not be insured if you do not declare that you are the main driver + you will not be increasing your NCD if you are only a named driver.

Hi Scottyscoob,u shouldnt be too bad up there.I stay outside Perth but i lived in Inverness for a bit and the premiums are pretty similar.I was 21 when i got my scoob- brand new uk car cost me £1200 fully comp with protected NCD, 4years NCD and a clean licence from privelege.Renewal last year was £1000 and they added £25 for a full exhaust system and air filter- not too bad at 23!Good luck with the hunt and give Aird motors in Beauly a look, ive tried 4 or 5 different dealers and theyve given the best service by far.The advantage of being out in the sticks is that youre more likely to keep a clean(er) licence! il keep an eye ouy for u tho as im looking for a place up there just now- see above reason!!
