Hi

Like everyone here Im an Impreza enthusiast, however, insurance is keeping me away from buying one.

At the moment Im 24 but only have 3 years driving experience (clean license/3 years no claims). I was going to hold fire until next year once I hit the 25 year age group in hope insurance will go down but whenever I get these online quotes (Direct Line, Tesco etc etc) it normally comes out at £3k plus!!

Can anyone advise me if they noticed a big change in insurance costs once they've hit 25? Also, based on my criteria - which Impreza would be the most affordable to go for (still would like one with some grunt though, perhaps with a £10k budget )???

Many thanks

Having been through several age barriers (21, 25, 30...), I've never noticed this mythical drop in price!! Having said that I've been getting progressively faster and more expensive cars, and paying roughly the same each year, so I guess it is effectively reducing...

Don't know how all you young whippersnappers can afford to buy & pay for petrol for a Scoob, let alone £2000 for insurance. When I was a lad I used to get the whippet to push my 1.3 Metro down hills to save tuppence ha'penny on petrol...

Sorry, can't really remember what the question was....

Hi

Thanks for the info!

The truth is I can barely afford the car I have at the moment! Plus I've gotta get a mortgage soon. Might try and "wangle" the car as part of the mortgage

Cheers again!

There are alot of 21ish Scooby Drivers, if your moving, then move to a low insurance group area, if you really want a scooby.

At 21 with 4 years NCD and 3 points it cost me £1100 in a low area and thats before I had traker fitted.

I'm 24 and live in Bedfordshire. I bought the UK300 model as new and have no tracker fitted. Priviledge charge me £1400 fully comp, protecting my 5 years ncb and includes legal cover. This was the cheapest by far out of all the insurance companies I contacted.
