Once again I am on the insurance trail, as mine is due on the 19th April.

I thought it was supposed to get cheaper as you get older. Anyway, here are the quotes so far for your information:

1994 MR2 £5500 value
Me 28, 1xSP50, 5 years NCD Protected,
Missus 29, 1x SP30, 1 x £300 claim.
10k miles a year
Parked on street

Quotes are:

Company Telephone Renewal Excess
Adrian Flux 0870 0777888 £570.00 ?
Tesco 0845 3009900 £732.00 £250
Direct Line (Privilege) 0845 246 8701 £786.45 £300
Privilege 0870 243 5555 £786.45 £300
AXA Direct 0800 0139292 £1,049.00 £250
AA 0870 606 0483 £1,129.00 £350
Norwich Union Direct £1,136.00 £350
Elephant.co.uk £1,180.00 £350
1stquote.co.uk £1,211.00 £350
Allianz Cornhill Via Autodirect £1,225.00 £350
Endsleigh 0116 255 1620 £1,291.00 £350
Zenith Via Autodirect £1,368.00 £400
R&SA Via Autodirect £2,225.00 £300

So how can 1 company charge £570, and another £2,225? Someone is making some big money somwhere!!!

I am tempted to go with the Adrian Flux quote for money reasons (I need a new suspension) but I have heard they are not too good from this forum - any views?

Jesus!

Well, my insurance is up soon too and Adrian Flux look like the best for me too. My mate has also just switched over to them and it's *very* competitive.

They don't mind about mods either so thumbs up from me.

They are the club insurance for Peugeot and come reccomended.

Thumbs up

Matt - thats what is putting me off them.

Having said that, all insurance companies get a slating from someone so no change there.

I may try ringing Tesco, see if they can beat the quote.

PS Tesco just quoted me £1300 FC for a P1 - nice

Been insured with A Flux for 3 years, never had any problems, good quotes, even promised to beat any renewal quote I got last time around ( which they did by £20 ).

Previously been insured with Greenlight and had alot of trouble with them - e.g. documents turning up months and months after taking out the insurance, continually phoning for cover notes just seemed to annoy them. They have allegedly improved their game since then though.
