The £25 was probably an admin fee as you said.

Can't understand why they want payment there and then, should offer to send you an invoice really.

I personally can't justify charging someone an admin fee to change an address, but not all brokers work the same way obviously.

so companies (insurance) do have admin fees for a change so the broker has to charge them. but some companies do charge for a COA if the new area is in a higher rated area but can sometimes give you a return in the prem is you move to a lower rated area

lol. sorry mate i was quick reading and obviously missed the important bit

but the admin fee bit i stated is correct. a good way to check is have a look in your policy booklet! will state any admin fees in there!

Said it was in their Ts and Cs - must admit I never went through them in fine detail but then you don't.

Ask them for a statement of price.

That'll show if the £25 is going to the insurer (additional premium) or the broker (service/admin charge)

TBH the company is fully entitled to charge it, but can use their discretion.
