CAR: MY00 Standard
LOC: HIGH RISK AREA
AGE: 29

Renewal with Privilege £969 - inc Legal cover and £250 excess
Chris Knott £987 - inc Legal cover but with £350 excess.

Looks like I'll be staying with the guys at Privilege. And I've made a £25 saving on last years premium...who said that insurance is up 15-20% this year. Not for Me!!!! I think I'll be buying a round in the pub.

YEAH!!!!!

Nice result m8.

Strange, privilege weren't even in the same ball park as Chris Knott (and others) for me, MY00,31.

Privilege wanted 1400 from me but I got it for 800 from Greenlight (01277 263030). This was six months ago though.

What i seem to find is that if you have a high risk postcode like mine (its got an M in there oooooooops ) then all the cheaper insurance companies that give alot of low risk area people great cover wont even touch you (i mean literally, they wont cover you!) so companies like direct line and privilige normally offset the costs onto others and keep getting all the high risk insurance (but with lots of clauses involved like tracking systems etc).
I doubt that chris knott would be anywhere near direct line for my renewal to be honest with you, i dont think that *Rum can be either as direct line undercut them by 200 quid last year

Wink

LOL!! cheeky git
Shes fixed now as that last 911 driver found out steve they ended up cleaning the pipes to the wastegate, sorted everything out and gave me more urge at the top end to boot now i just need to see what sort of figures im looking at on a RR and see if there is noticable improvement across the range (it feels like it as shes more lively down low too )
As for that insurance thing... 50 quid! i wish lol! (its 65 quid )

Privilege offered me a price (£987) for a modded (+20% BHP only) MY00, but do insist on a Tracking system.

Chris Knot weren't interested the moment I said ''Modif ...'' don't think they even let me finish the word!

Cripes these quotes sound high

I'm not expecting to pay over £1k for my modded car - at about 350bhp

All my bans are now off - hoorahhhhhhh and I have full no claims, etc on an sti5 (worth say £15k - yeah you can mod cars but it does jack to the resale value - wish people in the for sale section would take note!)

I live in Bristol and yesterday forr an RB5 Prodrive ( me 31 full N.C.D)

Privilege £668 Tracker needed £500 XS
Chris Knott £730 no Tracker £500 XS.

Whats the point in having a small XS because its not worth claiming for a minor scratch anyway?

Regards J

Privilege/Direct Line (same company) seemed my best quote at £590 on MY02 WRX, but when I asked, I found out they were restricting mileage to 10,000/year in the small print!!! Quoted £680 for 12,000 max mileage, but Chris Knott quoted £630 for unlimited mileage. No change for twin headlamps, but won't consider any engine mods at all...
