Reporting insurance job on car to bike insurers?
Question for the insurance bods. Just renewed my bike insurance and am also thinking of claiming on the car insurance to have a dent or two fixed up. About a grand's worth of work. No other parties involved, just a wife reversing into a school playground wall ... doh! (Not happy with me 'cos I raised my voice somewhat when I saw what she had done ... ). I'd been thinking of having a few minor scrapes fixed up anyway.
The question is about having to report any claim I made to my bike insurers. The bike is fully comp. with me alone driving it/on the policy. Car is completely separate insurer/policy, fully comp. with both myself and my wife on the policy. *If* we claimed would I need to tell the bike insurers, even if the claim was done in my wife's name?
Just to note, I'm just trying to determine what I would *legally* have to do here. I don't want to 'not tell' my bike insurers then have them get out of paying for a legitimate claim on it.
