Default New'b insurance advice

hi peeps
i'm currently looking into getting my girlfriend a wagon as a prezzie in the next few months (i dunno which one of us the present is for most lol)
the problem is she has a provisional, i'm using it as an insentive as she's in love with a guys wagon at her work and she needs a kick up the *** to learn lol

the other problem is i'm a courior driver with my own van (5yncb has to be on that policy just to make it under a grand on a standard astra van )

she's 29 on a provisonal and lives in the GU14 area
i'm 26 (27 next month wich will be the earliest i will be getting a scooby for her) i have 3 points for mobile phone (comes off next year) but i wont be able to use my no claims, and i've never had an accident.

anyone have a rough idea how much the insurance would cost for us and whats the best way to go about it?
i've had great quotes on my old 200sx but that was before i became a carear driver which bumps up premiums nearly 200%

when i was 21 and learning to drive i refused to be on anyone elses policy because i wanted my own ncb and i was the main driver with an AXA policy but they no longer do car insurance, is there any company that would have her as the main driver whilst learning? as if i'm a named driver my opcupation will no longer be an issue
and i'd rather it was her insurance as it will be her car that i would occasionally drive

sorry to waffle on but i dont want to buy her a car she cant afford to insure

ALSO how much difference does an import make on the policy ie difference between turbo 2000 uk spec and jap wrx's?

thanks
Wil

ok what ive had back so far are no quotes for a wrx wagon and £1700 ish for a 2000 which doesnt change which ever one of us is the main driver
thats confused and tesco (alomost identical prices and the sam co's)
thats with £500 excess, there were a few at £1800 with no excess though

would we meet the criteria of any of the specialist insurers?
