Hi all

Got the girl next door wanting my uk300 but the thing putting her off is the car insurance for it,

She is 21 and with 2 years ncb. i just did a confused for her but they are coming out at £2000 the cheapest with £250 ex.

not spoke to her yet but im sure the sale will be a no go at that price.
so what can i say to her to get it down other than uping the excess, will getting her mum n dad put on it bring it down? and is there any insurers out there that i should get her to try like Adrian flux and one's for young drivers?

last thing were would she stand on selling her car she got now as there is still outstanding 6k hp on it?

(got a felling this going to be more hard work that it worth??? )

Whole thing sounds like a mare, Insurance is just BAD at that age, She could try getting her dad to insure it and put her on as named driver, Might work out better.
As for the HP.... Does she plan to clear the balance with the money she gets from the car sale? If so then it should be ok. If not then it will be hard work, Most people these says will conduct an HPI check as a matter of course.

I would look for another buyer if I was you, This sounds like a right old pain.

Some of the best insurers are A-Plan, Adrian Flux, Keith Michaels, Greenlight, LV.

As for her HP. I'd have thought she's going to have to get a loan and pay the HP off. Sell her car, then buy yours.

i got a quote on my own off yes insurance for £470 but when i put my wife on as a named driver it was reduced to £355.but im 42 an my car is a uk turbo 2000 and thats third party fire and theft.

Got my price down from £1200 tpft / £600 excess

to

£995 fully comp / £250 excess

Would do tpft at £500.

My insurance is 600 pound from Norwich Union for me and the wife on my 2004 wrx, best place to look is somewhere like compare the market as for her HP I doubt her current car will the outstanding balance with the ways car prices are going
