FAO of those that work in insurance - rob moley etc.
i know this may not be a good question but i thought i would ask, so as to get rid ofthe thought from my head if it is bad..
ok question is with regards to insurance quotes and what you guys check.
done some quotes and got the price cheaper but with info that isnt necerserrily true or neither a lie.. could you help me note. this quotes have not been with yourselves
1) my aunty whos a named driver on the policy has bang on 15 years driving experience along with holding license for 15 years.. if i change this to 14 years.. its saves me £220
is this wrong for me to change it to that? in essence you could say she has had 14 years driving experience.. how would you really know ? im the main driver. and chances are on a crash it'll be me driving, shes only insured cause of long road trips and to switch drivers so we dont have a break.. thats only a few times in the year.. would you really check all the details of named drivers if i was to claim? (note. i havent claimed in the last 4 years of driving, and dont plan on doing so due to mates ownign garages and can fix my car if owt happens but hey u can be unlucky and ruin someone elses)
2) second thing which is sort of more of a lie but if i say i am married or even cohabitating which is actually more close to the truth.. it drops £110 £160 for being married, if i was unlucky to have to claim, would they check if i was married or cohabitating? we both have our own places but sometimes stay at each others for like 3 months at a time etc.
3) due to us having our own house but living at each others for like 6 months of each years.. its a whole lot cheaper for her on my address ( £700 to be exact, scoobs for you), can she put my address down? after all it is hers aswell as mine.. shes here most of time if not all..
for me the main question is point 1 .. for her insurance main question is point 3 and second question is just so it covers my aa breakdown cover lol
hopefully someone could clarify this and then i can get the 'final accurate' quotes.
many thanks

You'd be best speaking to a specialist broker (Keith Michaels/Greenlight/A Plan etc), we use common sense (well some of us do ) when working the prices, rather than just seeing what the computer says.

lol or instead of making a person up add my 76 yr old grandad on it hmm

genuine question: I have never believed adding this phantom other older driver can make any difference.
surely when yr driving an impreza the ins company must release the yoof also insured is the one driving.
Are you telling me if I add my 74 yr old mother with 50 odd years of driving behind her- yr telling me my premiums will plumet ---------- I doubt it !!!!!
crikey they should go up- given she rags her toyota along all day in 3rd gear and has no sense of where she is on the road !!!!
