Just ha dmy renewal come through from a plan, its up £100 on last year
im 23 with a P1, the renewal is 1877.50

i have 6yrs protected NCB, but had a claim last year, just my car involved.

any 1 recomend any insurers 2 try?

why has it gone up, ok i have made a claim, but wats the point in PNCB then???

Hi Dave,

Ordinarily you would expect your premium to reduce with you being another year older etc. But what you will probably find is that you may have lost an experience concession due to your losing control of your vehicle .

The point of PNCB is to retain the concession that you have earned for not claiming for a number of years. However, although PNCB does not stop a policy from being loaded for an accident or another factor, it does reduce the blow by retaining your 60/65% discount as without PNCB you would have lost some (or all depending upon Underwriter) of your NCB in addition to another loading.

The reason that Insurers may be unable to assist is statistical, Insurers (& Police authorities) hold statistics that show people that are involved in an incident for which they are to blame are likely to have another incident of this nature within the next 3-5 years.

Protected bonus secures your NCB discount that you already have (for a charge), but does not make an individual a better driver - which is the primary risk acceptance criteria for most underwriters.

With the incident being minor, we may still be able to assist. The best bet would be to log on & pop your details online for our team to assess.
