Default EVO insurance?

Does anyone know of a reasonable company that'll insure an Evo7 - i can insure most cars for around £400 - £500 (ins groups upto 16), the last bugeye scoob only cost around £600 (no tracker) but the cheapest quote i can get for an Evo is £1200+

me - 35, 7 years ncd, clean licence , no accidents

Keith Michaels can insure all performance cars, but for an Evo ask for Chris or Jez, as they both own Evo's and are very clued up on them

i tried going through confused.com and insuremycar.com which give results from most companies - for most no quotes were available
