Who has had a claim and received good service?

Which insurers are the best?

I guess it depends on who you mean.

I am insured with Groupama via A plan and I am not overly impressed with Groupama. They have written my car off (had paint stripper poured all over it) and they are very very slow. It has taken over a month to get to the offer stage.

But hats off to A Plan. Groupama rang me yesterday to tell me that they dont insure Cat D cars and I was going to be insured as Third Party only for the next 7 days. I knew it was going to be a nightmare ringing round trying to get more insurance but A plan rang me less than an hour after Groupama to tell me that they had got me insurance with somebody else and it was only £50 dearer for a Cat D car. Cant fault them at all. They have also given me tips on fighting the insurance company for more money and I was really impressed with their service.

I had a claim 'handled' by Admiral, biggest mistake I ever made using them to insure my car.

If they are cheapest, dont use them.

Thanks peeps,

Mrs WRX, surely it's A Plans job to fight the insurer on your (our) behalf, thats why they get their money.

I wouldn't be impressed if I had a claim and the broker gave me advice as to how it should be settled satisfactory, with me doing the work.

I want to do the work myself as it involves the Finance Company and they wont release any info to A Plan so it is easier to do it myself. I know if I need any advice that A Plan will help me out and they are going to do some of the work on my behalf. I was just very impressed with them.
