Ferrari cheaper to insure than a Scoob...whats going on?
#1
I've been hunting around for insurance quotes for Scoobs for the last few days to decide which model I can afford to run (or not!). Out of curiousity I decided to make some comparasons between a few different cars at http://www.privilege.co.uk/ and was astounded by the results.
All quotes were fully comp, based on the same personal info -
32YO Male, 5 Year NCB, 3 Points, 18K Miles inc business use.
Results:
Lancer Evo VI or VII - £1308
MY01 UK Spec WRX STI - £1188
MY99 STI R Type - £1165
MY89 Ferrari 328 - £1008
MY01 Audi RS4 - £980
MY99 TVR Cebera 4.0 - £961
MY01 UK Spec WRX - £775
MY01 Lotus Elise - £638
MY01 Audi S3 - £579
The only reason I can think of to explain these prices is that Japanese cars are crashed or stolen a lot more than European cars? - surely not!
Can anyone offer an explanation?
