Default 22 and can not find insurance, please help!?!?!

Hi guys,

I have wanted a scooby since I was able to drive lol, I know have the chance to buy my mates Scooby, when he bought it it was the only one of its kind in the UK, its a WRX import, 51plate, uprated gear box, full body kit and trip tronic, sub 5.4 0-60, I LOVE IT!!!

But I am 21, 2 years no claims, every quote I get it over £3k any ideas??

It has tracker and toad cat 1 alarm on it. Anf I have never had an accident or a speeding ticket!!

Cheers

You tried A-plan.... its going to be high i think because of your age. I still can't find cheap insurance! to insure all my cars cost 900.

Tried A-Plan, wont touch me, itss so annoying that you have to pay high insurance because other people have claimed, you get cheap insurance then if you crash (and its your fault) your in surance should only then go up dont you agree?

Cheers

A lot of insurers now insist that you be over 25.

Been insured with them since I was 19 on my 1st Scooby, now im 23 and on my 2nd Scooby.

Dont think any other company would give me a decent quote.

Mate - how did you get on?

I am in pretty much the same position as you. 22yrs old, four years no claims. Been quoted £2,500 on a Impreza 2.0 WRX but its just out of my range. Appreciate its going to be high, just need to get it a little lower.

Any advice/guidance from yourself or anyone for that matter would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Talk to Tony @ Greenlight, see what he can do. Depends on what car you have now etc etc, I have experience with a civic type R (girlfriend has one) so that brought it down. After all that looked at finances and cant afford it now lol! the car I mean, need a new job

i dont mean to state the obvious but...
1 its an import (higher ins bracket)
2 its got modifications(higher insurance)
3 you have little ncb(higher insurance)
4 your age(higher insurance)

forget your mates car... go for a standard uk classic. im sure the insurance will be lower.

im 21 and looking at buying a 54 reg sti, i got my dad to insure it and was a named drive, told the copany that i would to all the driving, no faffing about, im payin £1220, then got my own insuranc on my escort and paying £22 per month on that, that way you still get your no claims and yo get cheaper insurance.
