Does anyone no if you can insure imprezas on classic insurance yet!!!
Currently have an MR2 mark 1, which is covered as its over 15 years old. But mark 2's are now covered, and a recent classic mag states that even Lotus Elises qualify. What about the Impreza. It's not as if there's no iconic following, or no serious enthusiasts. Surely not everyone wants to crash them in a ditch so why are they not classed as "classics". Am very close to buying an early one but am not going to pay a grand to insure a three grand car. Especially not when my MR2 is valued at £2k and costs £172 per year full comp.

I think it is 15 years for most cars, but that would take us back to 1991 at the earliest, according to my book here the first Japanese turbos were 1993 ( not sure if being an import makes a difference to classic insurance ) and the first UK ones were 1994 - so you'd have at least a few years to wait.

You don't built up NCB on a classic policy.
If you have the car for 2 years on a classic policy, then get a newer car, you will have to canx the classic policy and get a new one, with 0 NCB.
Not sure how they are with mods either.
