It may make a difference but it's unlikely to drop by much. I'm 22 and have managed to insure my sti cheaply through bell but I myself can't understand how I got it so low. best bet is to do some phoning and see what's what. Generally elephant, bell and admiral seem cheapest for young drivers. You could always consider getting a uk turbo for a year or so then if you still feel the need to get an import swap up to that when the insurance is a bit more bearable?

I see - then you'll probably just have to drive something a little less peppy until you break the age barrier. Saying that I was insured on my old mr2 turbo at 20 with elephant so even though they're part of the same group they will have different criteria. Worth a try?

sit up till the early hours doing on line quotes, less stressfull than phoning and quite addictive in a sad sort of way.

agreed, and you can bend the rules so you are not driving illegally, but if an insurance company guy comes to inspect your car you will be fcuked. but who cares, if you are on 3rd party all you want is to be able to drive legally on the roads right

Try confused.com. They will try every company. The other trick I have tried, one of my mates is a copper and have put his name down as a named driver, dont know if it was any benfit, but worth a try.
