It may make a difference but it's unlikely to drop by much. I'm 22 and have managed to insure my sti cheaply through bell but I myself can't understand how I got it so low. best bet is to do some phoning and see what's what. Generally elephant, bell and admiral seem cheapest for young drivers. You could always consider getting a uk turbo for a year or so then if you still feel the need to get an import swap up to that when the insurance is a bit more bearable?

I see - then you'll probably just have to drive something a little less peppy until you break the age barrier. Saying that I was insured on my old mr2 turbo at 20 with elephant so even though they're part of the same group they will have different criteria. Worth a try?

Try confused.com. They will try every company. The other trick I have tried, one of my mates is a copper and have put his name down as a named driver, dont know if it was any benfit, but worth a try.
