would do my research properly but as search is offline at the moment I can't. So here goes:

Currently with Admiral. have *not* got the renewall notice from them yet, but I'm just pre-empting things first. Oh, policy renewal date is 05/01/01.

So....
need a list of insurance companies that will insure jap spec imports, more specifically, *modified* jap imports, as the black beast is modified.

At present I've got a quote from A-Plan for £1700.00

so, who else should I try.

Oh, ideally I'd like to be able to email them as my phone is well busy at the moment (pesky tech support for users, should never release a new version of software!)

can anyone help?

mail me tomorrow Markus...

tom@schofieldinsurance.co.uk

I will send you the appropriate forms to complete at your leisure and will then see if we can beat the A Plan figure of £1700!!

All the best.

Tom

P.S. I presume you'd be happy to install either RAC Trackstar or Telematics eGuard???

Rum*
Been having a chat with SuzyQ and she reminded me of the fact that I said I'd *never* have a tracker fitted. Reasoning being that if the car gets nicked one's not really gonna want it back as it'd probably be knackered and even if it was repaired it might never be the same.

I'm not saying I won't fit one, if yours is the cheapest quote with factoring in of tracker fitting then so be it.

Hope I've not pi$$ed you off at all.

Will email you tomorrow.

Cool

Hi Marcus,

I have just begrudingly paid Keith Micheals £1400 for my insurance on MY 95 STI 2, 25 full bonus, 6 points ect.
It went up from £1100 last year for no reason. Apparently the market has changed:-)
Try KM , no no. to hand, ask for Christian.
I tried at least 12 companies, suggested by Scooby owners, with no improvment.
Good luck !
Regards,
Andy

PS Pay the insurance and forget Xmas pressies !!!!!

Darren,
Thanks for the info.

Don't think that the black beast is a cossie eater, might have a little nibble, if it's lucky but it'd no way eat one, well I don't think so.

Thumbs up

I have had quotes on my insurance for a UK car from £3000 to the best which is £794. I have 6 points and 1 non fault accident 4 yrs NCD. Give these guys a ring they are dead helpful and insure with leading companies, they specialize in imports and Jap cars in general.
Performance car specialists: 0870 845 8888 ask for John Roberts.

Darren.

Schofied Ins?

I'm sure I contacted this lot back in August and you only insured the P1? - I have a modded sti5 - and I know for a fact that at that time you would'nt quote at all - so you've recently changed

I insured with A Plan - fairly incompetent (think that was more Axa's fault) - currently the name on my insurance policy is spelt wrong - so is the girlfriends - do I need to care - I've paid all the premium?

A Plan was £1350 fully comp (thats with loads of mods disclosed) and 2 bans!. I'm 28 with full no claims, no accidents/claims and not garaged in Southwest.

I will sell car next year if the quote is much higher.

Steve,

Yes, you are right we have only recently expanded to cover other models - but as I have always said 9 out of 10 times we also require Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm and GPS Tracking.

Sorry we weren't able to assist you this time round - hoopefully at next renewal I will be able to assist, and make the insurance premiums a little more bearable.

All the best for Crimbo.

Tom

If ever you require any assistance - please do not hesitate to contact me - I am always more than happy to try and help

Cheers

Thatcham Cat 1 is always a must

Dont know what GPS Tracking is. Had a 24hr Tracker on my previous car. If it reduced the quote substantially then ok - no-one reduced my quote by saying I had Tracker - got the max discount on the Cat 1.
