Insurance Subaru Impreza insurance can be expensive, as with any performance car insurance. But the cheapest car insurance isn't always the best. Share your quotes, and experiences.

Hi.
After a coup[le of weeks searching I finaly got the Insurance sorted ou.

95 WRX RA
28 years
full no claims
no accidents
DR** 4 years ago.

Old insurance company said that they could no longer insure me cos it is an import.

Footman James £1700
( they sent out a proposal form and the car was a 911 carrera. Phoned them back and they said they never had it on computer. Reconed it made no difference cos they are both group 20 )

Barclays £1538
Quote lineirect £1508
Keith Michales £1195 + £550 XS
GSI £1050 07000 411888

Hyperformance £995 + £450 XS 02089393949
A Plan £850 + £500 XS 0845 071 1234

Phoned A Plan back and said that Hyperformance quoted the same and A Plan went £835.

Hyperformance also wanted a CAT 1 fitted.

So I have went from initial quotes from &1700 to £835. Saving me £865.

Not bad but probobly spent the saving on the phone bill......

Any way I hope this saves someone some time.

I can recommend A-Plan too, I havn't kept all the quotes, however, they were substantially cheaper for me:

31, 1 yrs NCB, no claims/conv/accidents etc, new STI....Cost ?...... £795

You must make sure that you speak to their Jap import dept. Just for the record, the highest quote I had was for £3,500 !

Lee and Tim at A-Plan are the muts nuts for Scoob insurance at the moment, when I renewed mine in April Tim was working on something that might benefit clubs such as the SIDC. If anyone trys them for a quote ask them if they have progressed with this, clearly there would be alot of business to be had from here!
