I Like Barclays

Hi,
Just to say that I have just had my insurance up for renewal. After much phoning, cheapest quote was £1408 from Privilege with a £500 excess and a Tracker requirement. This is for 2 drivers <25, main driver with 6 Yrs. No Claims, city area, RB5, protected no claims.
Barclays have a price beat guarantee, so quote £1407, but without the Tracker requirement and with only £100 excess. Well worth calling for those of us who don't fall into the "cheap" insurance bracket.

Check that excess, if a driver is under 25 it is likely there will be a young driver excess of £200+. They may have only disclosed the Compulsory excess to you and not all the additional excesses. Make sure you double check this.

Did you try tesco's, they are part of the Directline/privelege etc group, and usually give lower quotes than the others to standardish cars. Then you could ring barclays back with a lower price!!!

Just to report back - my excess was a flat £100, regardless of age etc. The quote was *far* cheaper than anything else apart from Privilege whose quote they beat. No track day cover though....
