Thinking of buying a nearly new MY05 but so far have been frightened off by some very expensive quotes.
Can anyone recommend some good insurance co's that aren't afraid of Jap STi's ?

Cheers

www.greyimportinsurance.co.uk - part of A-plan. I paid nearly £1300 for my '05 JDM STI, but unfortunately I had to take out the policy just a few weeks before I turned 30. I'm expecting a better renewal quote this year.

I tried A plan, Tesco and Admiral and Admiral was the cheapest by nearly £200 and their excess was only £350 where as the others were £500. I have a My 97 STi wagon. Well worth checking them out.

I paid £670 for my 03 JDM STI, Norwich Union direct. Had to do it over the phone though as the website doesnt list jdm's as an option. (6500 miles/yr, fully comp, protected with legal stuff). Worked out about the same price as a UK STI PPP.

Was also recommended Alan & Alan (I think??) who insured my mates Skyline GTR at a good rate, never got round to calling them Tel: 0800 0682941
