car insurance problem!! - need help
I am trying to get a new quote for my car insurance and have come across a rather large problem!!
I'l give you the background, in jan 2004 i was hit in the side by another car when i was parked in a layby. He admitted fault and his insurance company took my car and repaired it with no cost to me. I did however inform my insurance company thinking i was supposed to.
Anyway while i was talking on the phone this morning trying to buy a cheap quote i'd found online i was told that an accident had been recorded in jan 04 by my old insurance company and this mean't i was now in the high risk group, which added £200 to my quote!!!
How is this fair? The accident wasn't my fault, is there anything i can do to change this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am soo upset, it just doesn't seem right that i should be punished in this way for someone else not taking care driving.

Ahhh the beloved 'no fault claim'. You need to declare the accident when asked but need to stress that it was 'non fault' and didnt effect ure no claims and was of no cost to ure insurance company.
They shouldnt increase ure premium but as uve seen they do!!!
Phone around, some companies are reasonable and understand that it was not ure fault and will not increase premiums.
It may effect u for the next 3 years when answering the 'any accidents claims or convictions for the last 3 years?'
What can I say........Insurance companies
