Went with Axxa thru' AA last year as Admiral had gone up from £800 to £1600. Got £950 or so from AA, after some arguing (the price they quoted on their web site wasn't the same as the one that came in the post -- they relented when I sent them a copy of the web page I had printed out).

Anyway, renewal time and despite no claims it has risen to £1303, an increase of a third! Details are:

Me: 28 (or I will be a day before the renewal date), 7 yrs NCB (protected, 25k miles pa, Class 1 business use, no convictions

Wife: 31, has her own car, no more than about 2k in my car, last claimed mid-1999 for running into the back of a (rusty) Peugeot -- must've been around 500 quid, SDP only, no convictions

Time to shop around -- elephant have already offered £1080 but they don't do monthly payments (although I could always pay on a credit card and pay it off monthly, but it never seems to happen like that...)

Similar situation - Eagle Star direct were the best for 2 years then, just had renewal through for £1581 !!! up from £1040 i.e. > 50%.

I am 27, full protected no claims, no claims in last year either.

I have had a rough quote from Hyperformance for around £950 though higher excess.

Will try ringing all the usual suspects soon though not having a tracker may rule out some of those doing good quotes for others.

I guess ES don't want my business now

Just got a quote from Tesco Direct for £934.50. They did originally quote £675.15 but when I got them to check that was for a GX whatever that is. Tracker isn't required.

My quote from Tesco was &480.90 (Axa Direct renewal = £980.00), but they said being a Turbo it HAD to have a Tracker or similar fitted (which the car has already). I was told that when I rang to take up the quote too and had to fax Tracker paperwork over to prove it.

Will try them (do you mean Greenlight?) and somebody else has suggested Adrian Flux. I'll let you know how I get on.
