Saturday just gone someone reverses into the Pug whilst I'm sitting in the back garden of the g/f. Fortunately a neighbour lets me know whats happened. I go out and exchange details with the driver. The neighbour also says he'll be a witness.

I call the LV out of hours claims line, give all the details, they give me a reference number and I go away a contented customer.

The assessor turns up this morning. Says that he'll approve the work (new tail gate and rear panel). I go and get a quote.

I call the claims line this afternoon to enquire if I have to pay the excess or will that be waived as I'm not at fault. The girl on the other end says "What third party details are those?? . I say the ones I passed over on Saturday "We have nothing recorded, We don't have any of those details" I give them over again and say "In that case, you haven't spoken to the other driver, nor their Insurance Company have you" "No sir" "So that means that I may have lost my no-claims bonus doesn't it??" (silence......) "I suppose it does". I go back through the events with her, say it doesn't happen very often when an unattended park car gets hit and the driver stays around, nor there is a witness to it. She says "What witness is that then" FFS

Naturally by this time I very pi$$ed off and show my (restrained) annoyance. She says she will report the matter to her boss

Just had a call from the Supervisor who states that the out of hours claim line is not linked to the claims line. They have offered me a 10.00 voucher I can redeem against my next premium.

Just watch out if you deal with the LV out of hours claim line, and get a FULL contact name
