Default Declare rally decals?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone who has body graphics like eg the SWRT style swooshes etc has been charged major beans by their insurers to be "allowed" to have them?

I suppose they do make a car stand out more hence increasing risk of TWOK / mellicious damage so they are frowned upon by insurers? (or winked upon when they can charge more)

Whats the score?

Yup, you should declare anything that changes the car in any way means or form from the factory standard, i believe this comes under changes to body.

Question

So people with decals, how many of you have declared and if you did how much did this cost extra?

A mate of mine who runs a performance driving and rally tuition company was told by the police that his car which carries his companies full livery is much less likely to be stolen as it would stand out from the crowd way too much. Thieves like to blend into the surroundings and anything which may attract attention is often avoided. Seems logical, so I'm sure insurance companies will completely ignore it and use it as an excuse to bump up the premium like they do at every other opportunity.

Two ways to look at it. Yes, they make the car more conspicuous so less likely to get stolen. On the other hand, if the car is crashed it's going to cost more to repair.
