forget it. Most insurance companies wont touch anyone under 25 (recent new policy i think) and if anyone did insure a 19 yr old it would be about 3k

good luck

Chris is right. It is best to wait till you are 21 then Tesco 4 definite will insure you.

Or alternatively go under a parents name and go 4 a any named driver policy. I was quoted £2300 under this when I purchased my STi VerIII.

In then end I went under my dads business policy as even £2300 is expensive.

If you want 1 now tho... dont let insurance stop u. Go 4 any named driver and you will get it...

You were all right, they all said no chance until your 25.
So im going to go to an insurance company with a crap car, insure it on my own name and then be allowed to drive any other car (Quinn direct does this), and quin direct said you can drive the other cars as often as you want and do however many miles you want.
All i have to do now is persuade my mother to insure the scoob in her name for me (£450 for a Turbo 2000), she is silly with these types of things and will need some persuading.

She probably has some common sence rather being silly ! MY Experience says that you will have some form of incident in a scoob at your age, be it an accident or a ban, When we are young we are silly and think we are imortal, I was there many moons ago and after totalling two cars realised i was'nt imortal, And for the record one was a 1.0 Metro and the other was a Fiat 127 Super. Prob about 60 BHP at the most ! I now run a MY04 WRX and i know that i aint imortal..... Just some friendly advice.....

I can understand what you are saying, im not a stupid driver and dont think i am immortal, dont get me wrong i like to give the car a push now and again but i never drive stupidly and outside my limits.
I know an impreza is a car to be respected and I certainly wont be abusing it and driving outside what i am capable of. An impreza is going to react totally different to my current car, and im going to have to get used to the way it reacts before pushing it a bit.

Go for it Jon mate, I am

You'll be perfectly legal to drive it, I'm sure she'll come round with a bit of persuading! Just make sure you respect the car and you'll have no problem.

All insurance companies seem to keep changing the rules as they go along, I know they have changed a lot in the last few years.

Give Egg a try, my son has been with them with a classic for past three years, they do require a tracker.

Hmmmm id seriously consider reading the small print of that legal document known as insurance, you may find you are committing the offence of fraud as you are deceiving the insurer about the cars owner (by the sounds) and i dont think 5 years in prison is a good idea (thats what fraud has as a punishment) but the least you will have is no insurance (car owner has to insure the car in their name), so not really good advice.... (they closed this loophole a while back, thus the criminal offence that now goes with it).

Now back to the first post.... wait a few years, im 36, full ncb, quiet area and i was getting quotes of 2k plus by some insurers, i think you will struggle and dont do the above, its not legal.
