Default Driving experience vs NCB?

I'm weeks away from buying a 2005 WRX STI but I am finding the insurance costs to be a real pain in the ****!

I'm 27 with going on for 10 years unblemished driving experience yet most insurance companies I have been quoted by, mostly mainstream high street branches, seem to consider me more of a risk than a 19 year old **** who by the luck of God manged to scrape together 1 years NCB!

I have always been insured on my dads insurance.

Will some of the more specialist insurace companies take this driving experience into account? It makes no logical sense!!!!

Surely there must be a whole host of insurance providers out there who can give me a quote under £2000!!!!

Any reccomendations.

Thanks

Sadly as you've been on other peoples insurance in their eyes you've never been the main driver of a car, hence yeah you could have 10 years on another policy but you might have only driven the car once a year
Logic would state if you were a main driver regularly driving a car the policy would have been in your name.

Afraid you need to bite the bullet sometime, a good advert as to why going on the folks insurance isn't a great idea even though it saves a few quid early on.

The other argument is that if you can afford a brand new STi surely insurance isn't a problem?

If so, WRX with PPP for a year or two to tide you over?
