Right I've found an STi 8 and agreed to pick it up 2nd week in March by which time I'll be 23.

I phoned up my insurers, Tesco to be told that indeed I now have to be 23 to insure this type of car although I've had 2 (MY99 UK Turbo's) since I was 20... I was gobsmaked to find they only want another £280 to upgrade from my current Golf GT TDi to the Impreza for 5 months cover, great!

That will give me a renewal premium of about £1,400.00.

I have an SP30 from 2002, and curently 3 years NCB, no accidents or claims.

Yes - got landed with that only my last 2 scoobs + £450! Thankfully the STi 8 comes with the RAC Trackstar already so I just need to subscribe (about £120 a year) - for what it's worth!

My girlfriend and i are 23, i have 1 years no claims, with tesco and have no points (at present) insurance is £3100. Robbing theiving C**TS.

When I had my scoob at 19, I had to go on my dads name costing £1,200, there was no chance I was going to pay a insurance company over £2000 just to insure a car, no matter what car it is, its the principle of the thing.
