you'd be very lucky to get a traders policy and it would more than likely cost in excess of £3k. you'd probs be better offering to pay to be put on the step dads traders policy?

get your car insured with a company that will let you drive any other car third party and that will solve the problem

If you can get a quote, try adding mum or auntie or any older female relative who's got a good driving history onto the quote. In some cases this can lower it considerably.

I thought you couldn't get Fully Comp cover on a car which doesn't belong to you?

You may be able to get TPO in your own name.

It's illegal to insure a car twice...

£2000 sounds quite reasonable to me for a female in a turbo. Just imagine how much damage you could do trying to reverse....;-}

A traders policy for a 25yr old (minimum age) would cost almost £5,000 per year with £7500 worth of cover.

He's a named driver Kelly not the policy holder; I can have named drivers added aged 21 and over but a policyholder has to be at least 25.
