Default Elephant and Mods

I know this has probably been said before, but I love the way that you can actually specify your mods on the elephant.co.uk website whilst getting an online quote. How thoughtful is that? When the rest of the industry has a very unclear attitude to mods its refreshing to see how a thoughtful and REASONABLE insurer does it. I’m currently with Admiral and I know its all part of the same group, but no harm in looking around!

Did the same thing myself - 6'30am December 22nd 1996. Date sticks in my mind as I totalled my 12 month old Nissan Micra 1.3 Super S (don't laugh - it was a cool wee cute car for me at the time) on a black ice covered bend near Bedford.

Total loss, upsetting at the time - but marginally better than the woman who went into the ditch 500 yds up the road 15 minutes earlier. Her car dropped 12 feet and she never survived. Five crashes on a 2 mile stretch that morning - least that's what the WPC who breathalysed me said (no probs btw!!!!).

The amazing thing was how many other cars went past and the folk who stoppd to see if I needed a hand (before the recovery truck arrived). I think I could 24 people in an hour - people are more decent than you realise.

Its shame they don't quote for imports on-line.

Tried to get a quote last night, states if you want a quote for a vehicle not destined for the EEC market then you may be able to call us for a quotation.

Yup, you're right -- I've just checked too. Bit of an inaccuracy though... if you go thru the steps then you'll find the JDM models are on the drop-down list... and it won't throw you out for picking one.

PMSL! I've just punched in a funny quote to check it... imported P1, driven by a 21 yr old with 3 yrs NCB... £5576!

Er, no, I'm older and have a UK Classic. Thank God!
