Insurance for modded cars?
Hi, i am asking this on here because no doubt many of you have modded your cars so may know better than anywhere else.
I have a Skoda Occy VRS and am looking to get it remapped, the thing is i am wary of insurance complications! Can you point me in the right direction to get a decent quote, which will actually cover me! Thanks guys

Elephant / Admiral let you do on-line quoting with various modifications included, which is quite interesting. It seems to get alot cheaper if you include a lady driver (eg wife or mother)
Direct Line / Privilege you have to specify mods over the phone which is not toooooooooo bad if you're lucky (I wasn't)
Tescos is mentioned alot on here (I think Direct Line are the underwriters)
Adrian Flux seem to specialise in all sorts of risky(?) insurance, I know several 20 something people with very modified cars who wouldn't go anywhere else, but no personal experience
Thats all I know, but I'm sure more will follow.......

Thanks for that, i am 40 next week but got full NCB etc, not really sure how much differance a remap would make, i'll have to do some ringing around then. I need to make sure its worthwhile first really, its ok having 50 extra horses but no good if you cant insure the thing

I believe some remaps involve taking the ECU apart so a good assessor would spot this, also i am looking to possibly have a boost controller in the car, which would be a giveaway. I'd prefer to be legit if possible.
