I've just completed their online quote thingy!!!!

It's given me a decent quote, so will probably follow it up with a telephone call.

I was just wondering if these guys are ok with mods (Wheels, spoilers etc).

Yes they will do the mods you state. Off the top of my head the spoiler will add 10% and so will the exhaust.
I'm refering to Norwich Union Direct and not Norwich Union through a broker though.
You will need to pay for the policy first, then call up, or you wont get the discount. They will then adjust it as a policy ammendment.
Alternativley, call up, get the quote with the mods included to make sure of the worst case scenario price, then go back on-line, get the quote again and repeat step 1.

Yep - I'm with them

it was 10% for exhaust mods - mine are down as BB + pipe work so I guess that means I can loose the last cat.

10% for STi8 wheels.

they wanted an extra 80 quid for suspension lowering.

Interestingly if you prang it with them you get the mods back unlike Elephant.

I phoned them up on the back of the online quote and got it cheaper.

So looks like i'm going to go with NU direct.

...I just tried to get a quote and with my mods (list of half a dozen or so items) they wouldn't quote at all.

I eventually went through NUdirect, there quote was £606 for a MY03 WRX. Didn't think this was too bad. It's got no mods on at the moment. But will hopefully be putting on some new alloys for christmas. Hence the post about mods.

i phoned the nu direct and was quoted £1400 on (my95) wrx wagon with mods! then saw an ad for imported car insurance in yellow pages with the nu direct logo. phoed it ( differetnphone number to uk office ) and was quoted £500 LESS for same policy!!!!!!!! gotta be worth a look!
