Did points on your licence increase insurance?
I'm getting three points on my licence - just wondering what sort of increase in insurance I'd expect at next renewal...Let us know your story...

50-100 is about right
the worst thing is you have to declare these points for the the next five years to insurance companies, even though they come off your license after 4 years
five years of higher premiums

Some insurance companies have started ignoring points for speeding completely becuase they are now so common. Shop around would be my advice.

i agree with duart the insurance companies i deal with will not load for just 1 sp30 i find most companies load on frequency not on points so for example 1 sp50 which incurs 6 points will result in a lower loading than 2 sp30's at 3 points a peace

The worst thing you can do (apart from drink driving!) is to get points for jumping a red light, they load premiums for that.
(just to add I have no points so i'm not speaking from experience!)

Hmm.. sorry but you will find that this year onwards insurance companies are hiking premiums for speeding offences and high risk cars..
I think it was explained in the daily mail, but basically a £1000 premium was increased to £1800 for a single speeding offence
p.s. if you fail to disclose to an insurance company the fact your have points - very bad news.. they'll not pay in the event of a claim, and you will find it very hard to get insurance in the future..

Am not to sure as i was getting quotes about a month ago and they were roughly increasing the premium between 50 to 100 quid for an sp 30, 3 points and 60 dollar fine, most people said that ins companies don't really bother with a single conviction, on one road theres about 24 cameras, which is takin the p**s, so i tend stay within the speed limit.

mine went up from £690 on a clean license to £805 for one with 6 (2x speeding)
strangely though - I got another 5 for "failure to report incident" (a long story) and because direct lines website only allows you to input 2 offences I put in 1 speeding and the 5 points, the quote came back £60 cheaper!
