killer insurance
Just wondering if anyone can tell me any good insurance companies out there for scoobies.
I just got a 94 import wrx last week but made the mistake of not checking the insurance on it 1st. most companies just laughed or wouldnt even go near me and at the moment im paying £1950 tpf+t which is all very well but my missus keeps nagging me that we need food and rent crap like that. im 23 with 3yrs ncb

Try LV or Tesco, only 2 places that might be able to give you a 1/2 decent quote (assuming they both still cover under 25's)

Since then I have discovered that no one and I mean 'no-one' will insure anybody under 25 on an import scooby. If you were insured before their policy changed, then you are ok. Unfortunatly, this means that you have to pay what they say as it is now impossible to get insurance anywhere else.
Its threads like the recent ' Got 4k to spend on a scoob, 4k on insurance, just to do donuts and act like a tw*t' that has forced insurance companys into this position.
Now its either keep the scoob and pay around the 1.5 - 2k for insurance, or sell it, which aint the easiest thing to do at the mo!

It costs me £3100 for a sti 7 at 23 with 1 years no claims bonus! thats for me my girlfriend and my dad and thats through tesco! but that had to go to the underwriters before hand!! my 94 wrx wagon was £2300 ish last year at 22. A lot of insurers wont touch you now unless you have 2 years no claims bonus and are under 23, as you may have found ?!!

Liverpool Victoria (LV) wont touch anyone under 30 on an Import, or anyone under 25 on a uk car.
Tesco/directline are possably your best bet, but considering the minor differences in performance between a UK car of that time and a JDM car of a similar time, you would have been better off with the uk car.
