Default I don't believe it!

At long last, I have found my V-Ltd STi, in blue with the roof vent etc, thanks to this site, but I can't get sensible insurance! 43 years old, full no claims, no points etc, but almost no-one has heard of the V-Ltd or 555 edition. A normal STi £700 pa, the V-ltd £1400 !!! It seems people insure the V-Ltd as just standard STi versions, but I have been warned, that in the event of a claim, if the specific model was discovered ie V-Ltd badge on the boot! and that was not declared at the beginning, the insurers would have a great reason not to pay up! Not worth the risk me thinks, so I shall now look for a nice, normal, version 3 or 4 STi. Thanks to all those who helped me look, but maybe this could be a warning to others thinking of going for V-Ltd editions.

Should have mentioned, I have read the old insurance threads and then spent 4 hours ringing the massive list of recommended insurers and some specialist brokers.

that sucks man!!!!!!!!!

Only things I can suggest is that you look thru all the scooby forums to see if anyone has that car as someone in the country must surely have one and PM them , email/phone the companies that bring jap cars into the country and see if they have any advice, or write to japanese performance or one of the other jap car mags too see what they say!

new on here, but had a problem insuring my 1996 s14a touring model as all insurance firms only recoginsed the touring after 1997, which is a load of b_llocks.

Anyway got insured through a company called Autonet (theyre on the web).
they have an underwriter so explained the differences and did it for same cost.

Most important thing is to get it detailed on insurance certificate

Try Direct line

I'm now 25, but got my WRX type R V. limited insured with them when i was 23 for £1400

its now down to £1270 plus £200 to protect the no claims, i took that policy out when i was 24

i've got 6 points for an SP50 and full no claims

Failing them try adrian Flux

Little tip, try to fill the form in on the internet gets you a much better quote, they did have the car on there when i applied 2 years ago

otherwise i'm affriad you will just have to choke it down, the car is worth it I smile like a mad fool everytime i drive mine
