2 cars, 9 years NCB........applicable to both?
I'm thinkin of buying an Elise as a summer/trcak car, 2000k miles a year. I also drive a battered 205GTi daily, which I have put my 9yrs + NCD against.
If I decide to but the Elise, can I use my NCD on both cars?? Or will I have zero NCD on one of them?!?
Seems a little harsh if I cant......!
Cheers,
Matt.

depends on your insurance company/ how long you've been with them etc, if your buying a second hand elise then, you'll be wanting to put it on a classic policy anyway. Speak to your insurers nicely, you never know your luck.

I found that some insurance co's may give you the equivelant ncb on your car, BUT you may actually find it cheaper to start from scratch.....

Put your No claims discount on the highest group car, insure the other car (most proberly the pug) on a 2nd car policy. This policy will reflect the percentage discount from the 1st. Try and speak to a Broker like the AA or Swinton.

Transfer the NCD from your Pug to the Elise as the Elise will be more expensive to insure.
Insurers will in the majority then give you an introductory NCD on the second car, the Pug.
Unlike Australia where you have maximum NCD as the driver regardless of how many cars you have, in the UK you earn NCD per car, so in effect on a second car you start from scratch.

Not true ... back in November I was happily offered both the Scoob and my then Range Rover Classic on two separate policies but both with the full NCD from my insurer. Seems to vary on insurer and once again who you are talking to on the phone

As long as you've got max NCD and save 75% etc. on both does it matter??

It does when some people try to transfer these years to another Insurer and they need to provide proof.
