If you are under 25 and have a subaru insured, could you please post the name of your insurance company.

Thanks

Try Privilege , when I was 24 they insured me on a brand new wrx! But I think it all depends on where you live etc. They will state that you need a tracker fitted though...

hope this helps

Thanks,
Was considering Tesco - he does have a tracker.

I think they are all the same - just want to get the cash and as soon as something happens looking for a way out.

You could try Bell Direct. I have always found them to be very good and also give a competetive quote. Their number is 0800 140 180.
Good luck

I was just turned 25 with 2 years ncd....got £850 on a brand new MY03WRX from Elephant...no tracker needed....only thing is they charge £6 every time you change something and ask for a new schedule....but well worth it.

I insured my brand new ( well it was!) MY02 bug eye WRX with Tesco about 20 months ago with no no-claims bonus, cos I'd been on company policies before. I was 23 at the time. It was about £1800 for the year I think but I had to have a tracker fitted. It was well worth it tho!

But I didn't rate the solicitors they used when someone drove into my car when it was parked!!

Elephant, Direct Line or Loverpool & VIctoria are worth a go.

Tesco have given me a good price 4 my WR1. Just can't wait for it to turn up now tho!!!

For under 25's I would say Tesco is your best bet. Their premiums are the most competitive, consistently, I've come across. I would advise though if you have a similar quote form another company, go with the other company. Dealing with Tesco on a claim, for or against, isn't the most ease of mind thing you can do imo. Other companies have seemed to drop their younger clientele
I was insured with Tesco on my old, slightly modded, My98 for a number of years. They were one of the few companies who would quote on my WR1 and only about 100 pounds or so more than the MY98!!

Out of interest Chris's scooby, how many no claims you got and what premium have you been quoted on a WR1 ?

mgg, what excess did you put in ?
The quote I got was £1008, 1997 Classic, 7 years NCD, tracker. They specified £250 excess, but I could add another excess to bring the price down. When you check the small print anyone under 25 has another £250 in addition to the other two mentioned.

i put in £250 excess.
However one thing i have found out: The insurance is cheaper on the new type wrx than the classic, i didnt ask why but all quotes i have got from insurance companies told me the same. Tesco wanted over £1000 on a classic for me with tracker. £900 on an 02 wrx with tracker.

It also makes a differencein price depending what tracker you have got. I will use a siemens trackback, as i can get one cheap. But if i used a 24 hour RAC tracker, the insurance was dropped to £876.

The Wr1 policy is £1850 or there abouts. I've a couple of years ncb.
I think it helps that i'm in a good post code area and the car's garaged.

thats young persons excess, and is on my policy. I have just made a claim (non fault claim) with tescos, and it couldnt have gone easier, car was taken away last friday for repairs, courtesy car arrived at my convienience, all correspondace has been prompt and helpfull. Because it was a total claim against the third party, they waved my exxcess £500, said they would pay it instead of asking me to pay then re-imbursing me.

All in all Tescos have been damn helpfull.

On a side note - Get my car back today and am happy to get rid of the corsa im having to drive. Its been like driving a really big lawn mower around for the last week bring on the scoob
