Gold alloys - do I need to declare them?
Hi there,
Was wondering if anyone can help. I have just insured my new turbo (an MY99 wagon) but am now worried that I may not have the correct cover if I have the 17" gold alloys. I am not sure whether they came as standard or not (as they are Speedlines I think - not quite sure). I want to have the right cover but also do not want to pay extra unnecessarily. The alloys on my Sport only bumped the insurance up by around £30, but the quote is more like £80 extra on the turbo. Have got the cheapest quote around and committed to insure so can't change. Just wondering if anyone knows if they are standard and if there's anything I can do.
Thanks very much.
Dom

Dont declare them to pslewis but seriously i'd make the insurance company aware that you longer have the correct wheels for your particular model of car otherwise they may void your cover.better to be safe than sorry,it shouldnt make a difference anyway (well not much)

If they were a factory or dealer fit option on your car when it was new, then you DON'T have to declare (i have people in the know!)
Any aftermarket upgrades, or items your not sure about then you have to declare, however small. It doesnt take much for them to decide not to pay out in the event of a claim.
Best to do some research if the alloys were new with the car, if no joy, phone and tell them.
