Default Insurance companies that do not require trackers

I am looking at purchsing a MY03 WRX and have been searching for insurance on the internet. Almost all the insurance companies are insisting that a tracker device be installed.

Does anybody know of any insurance companies that do not insist on tracker device being installed, yet have provided reasonable quotes.

The most competitive quote I have found with a tracker device is with Egg at £488.25. Without a tracker device, the most competitive quote was with Bell Direct at £598.50 although on the internet they only asked whether the car had an electronic immobiliser. Obviously, there is the cost of having the tracker device fitted and the annual subscription to consider aswell.

For most quotes I have obtained it only appears to be on average £30 a year more to insure an STi, obviously fitted with a tracker.

Most MY03 WRX's I have seen for sale very rarely have trackers fitted.

Well bearing in mind you must be over 50 years old with 30 years ncb to get those quotes, especially for an sti, I suggest you try Liverpool Victoria.

Sorry, I think I may have confused everbody.

The best insurance quote I have had for a MY03 WRX is £488.25 with Egg (tracker device fitted).

The best insurance quote I have had for a MY03 WRX STi is £628.95 with Bell Direct, yet for a MY03 WRX it would be £598.50 ?????

I am 31 and they all cover my wife who is 30. Bell Direct actually let you enter the total number of years no claims; in my case 13 years.

Admiral have quote £551.25. It did not say whether they wanted a tracker as it was through confused.com.

I have a nice little spreadsheet with all the different quotes on. Sad really !!!

I suggest that you still fit a tracking system anyway.

Jeez those quotes are cheap

I was looking at at wrx my04 and the cheapest quote I got for my wife was about £750...(over 30, no points etc in the Southwest)

I will use Egg - they have not stated that a Tracker is required

Its only the likes of Privelege/direct line/ Tesco (all same company) that seem to want Tracker....... not really seen many
