Default Classic car - off the road cover

I have a car (classic as in nearly 40 years old, rather than classic shape Scoob) that has been sitting in my garage for some time. I'm likely to be moving it to a mate's workshop for some work to be done to get it through the MOT. As the work will be done on an "as and when" basis, rather than "start work on Monday, MOT on Friday", I don't know how long it will be in the workshop (this is not a problem).

I'd like to insure the car for theft and damage while it is in the garage, and obviously would like agreed value comprehensive cover when it passes the MOT. Is this possible? Who provides this kind of cover? Any websites to look at? Any pointers gratefully received.

Thanks

Doug

Grab a copy of any of the Classic Car type mags, there is normally a fair few insurers in the back.

Thanks, Dunk. However I was really trying to cut the ringing around down to the minimum if I could short-circuit this by someone knowing of any insurers who do this.

Most of the insurers in the back pages don't have websites, and the sites that I have seen have been more along the lines of a repeat of the ad rather than "calculate your premium and buy online".

I may need to spend a bit of time on the phone on Monday....
