Interesting insurance quirk

Not sure whether anyone's bothered, but you may be if your driving a slow WRX (I say this as I sold my chipped one and brought a quicker Type RA )
When I rang up to get a quote for going from a WRX (240 bhp) to a 280+ bhp Type RA (lighter and faster as std ) to my amazement it did'nt cost a penny more. And the reason for this is that it seems that some (not sure if all) insurance companies just go "its an import we don't know what it is so lets just charge same for all impreza imports".
So the moral of the story is sell that WRX now! get a type R or RA... now where can I get an imported 22B....

Yep. The same sort of thing happened when I got my classic wrx a couple of years back. My chosen insurer didnt have even the wrx listed, so despite me telling them exactly what I'd got, with the mods , they gave it the same rating as a std uk turbo !
